This month, Douglas Homes proudly reached a remarkable milestone: the completion of our 2,000th home. This special moment took place as we finished the build of Liann’s new home in Crimson Ridge, one of our fantastic communities in Northwest Calgary. Not only was this a special moment for Liann as she took on the new role as homeowner, but for our Douglas Homes family as well.
She graciously allowed us to film the occasion, so watch the video and celebrate with us.

Doug Whitney, our Vice President of Sales, reflected on this achievement with deep gratitude:
“We’re very excited about the 2,000th home for Douglas Homes. It took us roughly 28 years to get to the first 1,000 — and just another six years to reach the second thousand. I think it’s very significant of the growth that’s going on with the company, and with the foresight of the ownership of Douglas Homes. Hitting 2,000 homes is not possible without having 2,000 homeowners. We’re very grateful for the people who have trusted Douglas Homes over the years, and we look forward to being able to serve thousands more.
The future for Douglas Homes looks very bright. Douglas Homes has been expanding and growing into land development as well as home building, and we look forward to many years of success with our land developments in Airdrie, Chestermere, Cochrane, and the City of Calgary. We are very excited about what that means to the staff and the people who work with us and for us.
We have an excellent group of people — wonderful young people — that are growing with the company and helping us as we make all of these milestones possible. We’re very grateful to those young people and their dedication, and for everything that comes from the very beginning of the house-building process: from selecting models, to the people who design them, the great people who build them, and the people who take care of them after homeowners move in. I think home building is a very noble profession. We intend to be a part of the landscape here in Alberta — and perhaps in British Columbia — for the future. We’re very excited to be a part of that. We are grateful for those who have trusted us, and now we look forward to serving those who are yet to trust us.
Everyone in Canada deserves to have a home — and needs to have a home. It’s our long-term goal to make homes attainable for people — not just affordable — but homes people can reach for. We believe that home ownership is an intrinsic value for Canadians, and we’re just excited to be a part of that.”
